PhD Achieved - Cátia Gonçalves

Big congratulations to Cátia Gonçalves for successfully defending her PhD! 🎓
Her thesis, "Coleoid venoms: predicting cephalotoxin function and biotechnological applications from ecological and evolutionary traits," is a big step in understanding the venom systems of octopus and cuttlefish, including their possible use in biomedicine.
This work was supervised by Pedro Costa (UCIBIO, NOVA-FCT), Ana Rita Grosso (UCIBIO, NOVA-FCT) and Odd Karlsen (University of Bergen). We are especially grateful to Pedro Costa for what has been (and will surely continue to be) a very fruitful and productive collaboration and to Odd Karlsen for his guidance and support throughout this joint supervision.
Our sincere thanks as well to all the members of the jury: Pedro Viana Baptica (UCIBIO, NOVA-FCT), Marco Lemos (IPL), Bernardo Duarte (FCUL), Francisco Pina Martins (IPS), and Susana Gaudencio (UCIBIO, NOVA-FCT).
We couldn't be more proud of you Cátia! 👏
