Sebastião Almeida

Sebastião recently finished his degree in Biochemistry (FCUL, 2016), and decided to pursue a Master in Bioinformatic and Computational Biology, also at FCUL, with the goal of developing his skills in programming and informatics, while, at the same time, continuing to delve into the world of Life Sciences, with a special interest in Molecular Biology. This interest in Molecular Biology, and the aformentioned degree in Biochemistry, intertwine in his current research project, pertaining to the complex world of glycosilation alterations in cancer. In particular, his Master thesis project focuses on trying to get a better understanding of the drivers of selectin ligands’ overexpression in cancer.
